soft-ground etching with roulette, on wove paper, without watermark, 1788, Lennox- Boyd's third, final, state, with the engraved address, a particularly fine impression, the dark sky resembling a mezzotint in its intensity, the roulette work used to establish the structure of the image in the foreground completely hidden by the subsequent soft-ground etching (this becomes visible in later, worn impressions), published by the artist, London, with margins, framed
