Descriptif du lot

While the present work has been previously exhibited as Long Branch Beach, the background’s resemblance to the Twin Lights of Thacher Island suggests that it may instead portray these lighthouses located off the coast of Cape Ann, Massachusetts, a region that Silva painted throughout 1871.
