executed by the Wiener Werkstätte, hammered silvered brass, glass, the domed ceiling rose hung with two tiers of four lights, each with white glass shades, four chains supporting a lower circular shade with fabric apron, the central cord mounted with three silvered knops

shade stamped with rosemark, WW, Josef Hoffmann's monogram and goldsmith's monogram for Josef Berger

Descriptif du lot

This chandelier is one of four examples of this design produced by the Wiener Werkstätte between 1906 and 1913. A period photograph of the model is in the Wiener Werkstätte Archive, held at the MAK, Vienna (inv. no. 97-47-1), where it is noted as 'Luster 12-flamm', Model 0622, illustrated on the preceding page.
