Descriptif du lot

The present work was originally accompanied by a letter from the artist dated January 14, 1904:
"My dear Mr. Gill, Yours received. While a painter may not praise his own work, he may be allowed to say that a certain picture is a good and characteristic one. This I can say of the 'A Sunny Hillside, Easthampton.' Hoping this will be satisfactory I am Yours very truly TMoran"

This work will be included in Stephen L. Good's and Phyllis Braff's forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the artist's work.
