The present watercolour is a version of one in the Whitworth Art Gallery (see. C. Nugent, British Watercolours in the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester, London, 2003, p. 82).

We are grateful to Timothy Wilcox for suggesting a date of 1815-1820 for the present drawing.
