Descriptif du lot

The print was catalogued by A.E. Popham as 'reproducing a genuine "presentation drawing", dating probably from about 1530-40' (Catalogue of the Drawings of Parmigianino, London, 1971, I, p. 252, no. O.R. 60, illustrated III, pl. 376). The composition can also be linked to Parmigianino's drawing of Ganymede and Hebe at the Louvre (inv. RF 580). An attribution to Vincenzo Caccianemici could be proposed in the light of stylistic similarities with the etchings by this pupil of Parmigianino (A.E. Popham, 'A Drawing by Vincenzo Caccianemici?', Master Drawings, VI, no. 3, 1968, p. 247).
