CAST BY SIOT-DECAUVILLE, PARIS, FROM A MODEL BY JEAN-LÉON GÉRÔME, LAST QUARTER 19TH CENTURY

Inspired by two paintings of the same subject that Gérôme exhibited at the 1897 Salon, La Fuite en Egypte was subsequently edited in two reductions, the present example benefiting from the distinctive polychrome patina favoured by Gérôme.
