The Reference 3444 holds a significant place in Patek Philippe's history as one of the Maison's earliest serially produced automatic wristwatches. Reference 3444 was launched by Patek Philippe in 1960 and remained in production until 1963. With the exception of 50 pieces in pink gold, this reference was mainly available in yellow gold with a total production of 200 pieces made.
Powering the timepiece is Patek Philippe's second automatic caliber ever created, the revered 27-460. As the timepiece is an early iteration of the Maison's automatic wristwatch, it has an original forged ‘PP’ crown, a collector-desired feature. The 'waterproof' screwback case was skillfully manufactured by Wenger (Case key 1) and has with beautiful steps in the bezel and lugs. Another beautiful feature of the reference 3444 are the applied 'coffin' indices in yellow gold.
Its rarity, historical significance as an early automatic Calatrava, and the timeless appeal of its clean design make the Reference 3444 a highly desirable acquisition for the discerning collector of vintage Patek Philippe.
