RF 2646 : L. Johnson, The Paintings of Eugène Delacroix. A critical Catalogue 1832-1863, Oxford, 1986, I., no. 125).
The nude woman in this drawing holds a pose reminiscent of the female figure in Delacroix’s famous painting in the Louvre, The death of Sardanapalus, where she is at the foot of Sardanapalus’s bed, arms outstretched (inv. RF 2646; see L. Johnson, The Paintings of Eugène Delacroix. A Critical Catalogue 1832-1863, Oxford, 1986, I, no. 125).
