A small Cologne Frechen stoneware pewter-mounted Bellarmine
Circa 1550
(Bartmannkrug) the light brown ground globular body applied with a large grotesque bearded male mascaroon, with a central banderole inscribed in Niederdeutsch: Wan Got Wilt Zo Ist Mein Zeilt (when God wants it will be my time), with two rows of stiff acanthus leaves alternating rosettes, the terraced domed cover connected with a shell thumbpiece to the loop handle
