Chartreuse (Green)
L. Garnier
In original wooden case
Production of this liqueur was an "in-house" specialty of the Carthusian Order, founded nine hundred years ago at Chartreuse in the French Alps. Its popularity surged after its discovery by army officers in the mid 19th century and demand forced construction of a distillery in 1860. Expelled from France in 1903, the Carthusians continued production of this liqueur in Tarragona until their return to the homeland in 1931.
