A carved cinnabar lacquer ruyi sceptre, 18th century
the slightly arched shaft carved in relief with long tailed birds on a dense ground of fruiting peach branches terminating in a ruyi head with two phoenix flanking a stylised shou roundel on a floral ground, the reverse with bats among clouds -- 13¼in. (33.7cm.) long.
