London Summer Season

  • Event date June 2024
  • Event location London

Christie’s London is a vibrant and compelling destination during the peak Summer Season in the capital. Following the success of our recent 20/21 sales in London in March, we are making some exciting changes to our programme in June.

Our re-envisioned 20/21 June programme will reflect the creativity and energy of our city and will include Post-War to Present (Live and Online), featuring artist-donated works sold to benefit the pioneering not-for-profit Studio Voltaire, supporting their artistic and community programmes during their 30th year. Further auctions feature Picasso Ceramics online and a dedicated Chagall online sale.

We are also thrilled to be presenting Vivienne Westwood: The Personal Collection, sold to raise funds for charitable causes. Widely considered one of the most influential designers of modern times, the iconic looks from her wardrobe have been personally selected by her husband Andreas Kronthaler. Celebrating large-scale works of art, Dream Big will present an online private selling exhibition of monumental sculpture from around the world. Three outdoor sculptures by Marc Quinn are included concurrently in Dream Big and in Marc Quinn: Light into Life at Kew Gardens, an exhibition that includes iconic sculptures of orchids, bonsai trees and other flora.

This summer Christie’s will also present a landmark selling exhibition to celebrate The 150th Anniversary of Impressionism. The 1874 exhibition is one that in many ways laid the foundation for the development which led to Modern Art. This celebratory exhibition will be held between New York and London showing the breadth of subjects, techniques and temperaments that were borne out of this revolutionary movement.

London Summer Season

20th/21st Century London

This June, Christie’s brings four dynamic live and online 20th and 21st Century Art sales to our King Street galleries.

Celebrating masterworks spanning over 100 years of creativity and innovation, this season’s line-up features sales dedicated to some of the most sought-after and exciting contemporary names, as well as two modern masters: an auction celebrating Chagall’s exploration of spirituality, and another offering Picasso’s irresistible ceramics.

Dame Vivienne Westwood

Vivienne Westwood: The Personal Collection

Christie’s is honoured to have been entrusted with the sale of Vivienne Westwood: The Personal Collection, which will be offered across a live auction (Part I) on 25 June, with an online sale (Part II) running alongside from 14–28 June.

The sale will raise funds for the causes Vivienne supported throughout her life, with proceeds going to support The Vivienne Foundation, Amnesty International, Médecins Sans Frontières and Greenpeace.
