Christie’s Fund for the Arts
The Christie’s Fund for the Arts, launched in 2021, supports organisations and institutions around the world in two key areas, which we have identified as priorities:
- Access: broadening access to the art world through a focus on investment in early exposure to the arts, education, career development and mentorship.
- Artists: supporting organisations that aid artists with resources, opportunities, platforms and networks.
We have three regional committees (Europe, Middle East & Africa, the Americas and Asia Pacific) who consider applications to the Fund, as well as proactively explore opportunities. We prioritise potential partners where our involvement can be meaningful, and we aim for a broad geographic representation across each region.
Since 2021, we have collaborated with more than 30 organisations around the world to drive positive change in our community. We are committed to building on this work, with partners who share our vision in advancing a more equitable and diverse art world.

The 10,000 Interns Foundation champions underrepresented talent and promotes equity of opportunity, across a range of UK industries.
Arts Emergency offer programmes to help under-resourced young people connect with cultural professionals and gain the experience, support and confidence that is often only available to those with established networks.
Art History Link-Up is a UK-based programme which encourages broader engagement with the arts by providing free accredited art history courses for state school Sixth Form students.
Housed within the Department of Art & Visual Culture at Spelman College, The Atlanta University Center Art History + Curatorial Studies Collective is an innovative program that aims to shape the future of the art world and posture as the leading incubator of African American professionals in these fields, with priority given to students enrolled at Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, as well as Spelman College
The Indonesia Autism Foundation is an NGO working to support and promote the welfare of the autism community in Indonesia. Christie’s partnered with the organisation to award grants to three young inspiring Indonesian artists who demonstrated amazing talents.
Civil Art dismantles barriers to professional success for API artists, art writers, and cultural professionals. We function as connective tissue in the arts ecosystem, building the networks, providing the milestones, and creating the foundations that turn creative potential into lasting cultural leadership.
Contemporary Arts Memphis (CAM) is a nonprofit arts organisation dedicated to the growth and development of young visual artists from Memphis-Shelby County area high schools; understanding that the provided studio space, art supplies, instruction, travel opportunities, college support, and mentorship – at no cost to our participants – can lead to life-changing experiences.
Diversidées supports private and public employers in defining and implementing comprehensive disability and inclusion policies.
Josephine Herrick Project amplifies underrepresented voices through photography, giving people the tools to see differently, communicate across cultures, and advocate for themselves and their communities.
Change 100 is a flagship UK programme run by pan-disability charity Leonard Cheshire, to facilitate paid work placements for talented university students with disabilities.
Offering blind and partially-sighted people access to cultural events accompanied by professionals who "whisper images".
Founded in 1969, Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art is the only contemporary art museum in the world dedicated to queer and trans artists. With a collection of more than 30,000 objects, their exhibitions, public programs, and initiatives uniquely link art-making with justice movements, honoring justice work as central to material innovation.
The Manchester Metropolitan University First Generation Programme supports first generation students in the arts from the North West.
The Belle da Costa Greene Curatorial Fellowships offer two full-time, two-year fellowships at The Morgan, providing emerging professionals with a strong working knowledge of museum and special collections library operations, as well as unique resources and mentorship.
In 2024, Christie’s supported a scholarship at the Department of Fine Arts, National Taiwan Normal University (NUTU), with 100% of funding going to the student.
Project for Empty Space is a woman-run, femme-powered, People of the Global Majority/BIPOC, Queer and unapologetically radical ecosystem for creatives based in New York.
As of 2023, The Fund sponsors the new Christie’s Award at the Royal Drawing School London for a graduating student.
Silver Art Projects supports artists with critically needed studio space in NYC, engagement in professional development opportunities, as well as bolsters connections with museum curators, art leaders, galleries, collectors, thought and business leaders, peer to peer and artist mentors, and others to change artist’s lives and enhance careers.
The Tracey Emin Artist Residency (TEAR) is a free, studio-based art school programme that encourages the development of studio practice alongside a community of professional artists at TKE Studios.
Christie’s Heart for Art Scholarship at Hong Kong University has established five annual scholarships for socio-economically disadvantaged BA students in the HKU Faculty of Arts to pursue valuable experiential learning opportunities in the art world.
YoungArts identifies exceptional young artists, amplifies their potential, and invests in their lifelong creative freedom via financial awards, mentorship, space grants, community, and a continued investment in creative and professional development opportunities.
Zero Gravity connects UK university students with free career opportunities and mentors to get internships, placements and graduate roles with top employers.
